January 2021 Races have been cancelled The Wilmington Symphony Beethoven 15K & 5K at Brunswick Forest will take you through the pretty neighborhoods and on the paved running trails in BEAUTIFUL Brunswick forest. There will be individual and 4 person team entry categories as well as a Beethoven costume contest. All 15K finishers including walkers and run/walkers will receive THE MOST AWESOME 15K FINISHER MEDAL EVER. ALL participants will receive long-sleeved running shirts. Team members are also eligible for individual awards. Team categories are available for the 15K run ONLY, with 3-deep awards in team categories. The 15K walk starts 45 minutes before the run start so walkers and run/walkers will be finishing about the same time as runners.
To ramp up the fun, why not run the race in your best Beethoven wig or costume, or any costume you want and have a chance to win a best-costume prize. Or, anyone carrying a musical instrument will also be eligible for awards such as largest instrument or most unique instrument.
Inside bathrooms and locker rooms will be available before and after the race. A post-race party and awards ceremony will be in the Leland Room of Brunswick Forest's state of the art Fitness Center with free beer, snacks, music and prize drawings. Costume Contest Winners will be selected by race participants based on the volume of cheers for each contestant. Race proceeds will go to the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra.
