This public general aviation airport, owned by the Town of Ocean Isle Beach, has no control tower and is suitable for most light aircraft. The runway, lighted by standard pilot controlled lighting, is 4,000 x 75 feet of asphalt. Trees parallel to the taxiway are within close proximity to taxiing aircraft. Ocean Isle Beach Aviation offers tie-downs, hanger space, and self-service fuel 24 hours a day. OIB Aviation also has rental cars available on site. A fixed-base operation, completed in 2008, is in full operation at the airport site and includes concessions which offer soda, coffee and Dippin Dots Ice Cream. It is attended weekends year round and daily during the summer months. The pilot lounge is equipped with restrooms, showers, computer (for Internet weather and flight planning), WiFi and a television. Twenty-four-hour access to the pilot lounge is by coded entry door and registration forms are in the pilot lounge. Ocean Isle Beach Aviation offers flight instruction, scenic airplane rides, aircraft rental and management and pilot services. There are emergency numbers posted at the airport if assistance is needed when the airport is unattended.
